Project Background
The client sought to replace the existing silencer on a diesel generator (DG) with a Retrofit Emission Control Device (RECD) to reduce carbon emissions by 80%.
Our Scope
Our team at SBDC Engineering Services was tasked with designing the RECD integration while ensuring minimal operational disruptions. We provided a full range of engineering services from conceptual design to the release of manufacturing drawings.
Key Tasks Included
RECD Positioning & Routing:We carefully analyzed and arranged the RECD placement, optimizing the pipe routing to achieve the required reduction in carbon emissions without exceeding the allowable back pressure for the diesel generator.
Back Pressure Calculations: Detailed back pressure analysis was conducted to ensure the RECD integration would not hinder generator performance.
Manufacturing Drawings:Released accurate, detailed manufacturing drawings to ensure proper fabrication and assembly of the RECD and its associated components.
General Arrangement (GA) Preparation: Developed GA drawings for client approval, focusing on the placement of the RECD and associated parts to ensure compatibility and performance.
